Do We Really Have It So Bad!
So this little precious angel on the left is my wonderful niece her name is Katerina! She lives in Massachusetts with her two brothers Steven and Baby Aires (named after my dad)!
Katerina is very very sick she has an illness called Pearson’s Syndrome it is a very rare disorder that only 100 children in the world have. Most Children don’t make it past 10 years of age. You can read more about it by Clicking Here!
Katerina, my sister, and her family have been living with this for 4 years now, and it is a very difficult disease to deal with; Liver failure, diabetes, blood transfusions, fevers, no growth or weight gain, nose bleeds, the list goes on. I admire my sister’s strength and Katerina’s strength too, she is a brave little girl that has endured so much suffering and so much pain. Yet she is so smart and is such a happy little girl it’s incredible to see, and she brings such joy to anyone’s heart.
So I have been in Boston since Wednesday May 26th to help my sister, Katerina, and her family out! I spent Thursday in the hospital with Jo Ann (my sister) and Katerina. Katerina needed a blood transfusion, this allowed me to see first hand what this poor child goes through every 2-3 weeks, and it is absolutely MISERABLE! And yet she was so polite to all the nurses and staff, saying hi and telling them she loved them…truly amazing to see!
We went to Children’s Hospital in Boston, MA so I also saw first hand all the suffering other children are going through. I can’t tell you how heart moving it was. I tried real hard to fight back the tears it was definitely a defining moment for me. At that moment I also realized how lucky I was to have the health I have as we all should. “A man’s wealth is measured by a man’s health!” Ironically this was the quote in a fortune cookie Katerina opened yesterday after we ate chinese food! And it so true and something most of us take for granted. Give thanks for your good health and appreciate it if you have it.
NOW THE GOOD NEWS and the reason I am writing to you about this is, that Baby Aires who is 6 months is a GIFT From GOD. When Baby Aires was born my sister had his umbilical cord saved so she could have it tested for stem cell match. Well months later the results have come back 100% Positive! Truly a miracle. This is so rare for this to happen and we are so thankful, because this means Katerina has a chance for a normal life.
There has been a case of another child with Pearson’s Syndrome having a successful stem cell transplant in Belgium. So after much contemplation and research my sister has decided to go ahead, and try this transplant on Katerina, however there are great risks involved. The greatest of them comes with preparation for the transplant, she has to go through chemotherapy to kill the present cells in her body to make room for the new ones.
Now since she is already very weak there is tremendous risk with this procedure there could be neurological damage, and not to mention death. She will be in a quarantined sterilized room for 100 days with my sister, shut out from the rest of the world. So as you can see this will not be an easy feat. There is still great sacrifice before the great reward…as with anything worth having in this life!
So I am asking you for your prayers during this time. Prayers to give her, my sister, Baby Aires, Steven, and Peter (my brother in law) strength to endure the journey they are about to embark on, and Prayers for a successful transplant, and a happy healthy life for Katerina.
I have come up to Boston to be with Katerina, my sister, Baby Aires, and to help distract Katerina’s brother Steven from the things going on. We have gone to the movies, the beach to fly a kite, bowling, going for rides, and racing radio control cars. Everything a 6 year old boy loves to do, but hasn’t been able to do, because he is worrying about his sister all the time. He hasn’t had time for distractions, because he is wrapped up in everything happening, so I have done my best to keep him distracted for the short time I am here.
My mom is here too we flew up together, and my aunt flew in from Portugal to offer any support and help that Katerina and my sister need. She has been here for months sacrificing so much that it makes me admire her even more than I ever have. It is so great to see my small family pull together, and help as much as we can, hoping and praying for the miracle this little girl deserves.
Thank You for letting me share this story with you and your prayers and comments below are appreciated.
Gratefully,
Anthony Aires

My prayers with you and your family, God bless and hope all works out for the best.

My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. This is very promising news about stem cell research though and I hope the outcome is positive!
Thanks for the reminder, BUT not a day goes by that I am not grateful for my health and the life I am blessed to lead. We should all be grateful and take a bit of time each day to acknowledge our gifts.
Anthony,
We will keep your family in our prayers. May our Lord comfort you and give you all the strength you’ll need in the days and months ahead.

Many things can drain the body of energy, such as depression, pain, stress, grief, anger, radiation, chemotherapy, being bed ridden for long periods of time, etc…
Chemotherapy and Radiation are important and much needed tools for fighting cancer. But they can damage tissues and vital organs and disrupt the energy field of the body, creating a loss of vital energy. Thus new cells that are attempting to grow can have difficultly growing into normal healthy cells.
Keeping the body full of energy reinforces normal, healthy cell replication.
Rev. Tracy L. Parker, as a touch healer in cooperation with medical science, has success regenerating organs and improving the health and quality of life in patients who originally had less than a thirty percent chance of survival.
Tracy works with the energetic field of the body by supplying the energetic vibrations and frequencies needed for the body to:
* replicate cells normally
* reduce some of the adverse effects of chemotherapy
* repair itself of the damage done to the tissues and organs by chemotherapy and radiation
* remove the residual radiation from the energy field
* dissolve the scar tissue created by radiation
* be full of vital energy

Hi Anthony,
Thanks for sharing your situation with us. Before I read your email, I was feeling sorry for my self over minor things.
I believe that God is using that precious angel to show how he will and can perform miracles.
The word of God says:
\\"If you have the faith as a grain of mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ____________ be ye remove, and be ye cast into the sea. And If you would not doubt in your heart , you will have what you say.
The word also says in Matthew 18:19
If two of you shall agree on earth as touching anthing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven
So, there are more than two agreeing with you for Katerina. I am looking forward to your praise report of how well she is doing.
God Bless!!

In the name of JESUS, we thank you for Katerina’s healing-whether by medicine, or majesty, we thank you, and give you the GLORY! Amen !

Anthony,
It is just gut wrenching when children must go through illnesses like this, for the family as well as the child. Please know that she and your family are in my prayers. Thank you for letting all of us know. I will share her story with my prayer partners.
Anthony,
You should set up a paypal button on this post so that those of who can afford it can help out the family!
I have some insight into what you have seen at the hospital. I recently had twins (2 girls) and they were born early and have had to be in the Neonatal ICU for the past few weeks. Although they are healthy and should be home soon I have been able to see other babies that aren’t as fortunate, and the stories I’ve heard from other parents there in the ICU have really changed my perspective on things.
You and baby K are in our prayers.
Chris Daigle
I just want to tell you that you are truly an amazing brother being there for your family at the drop of a hat, this is what family is truly about I am praying for you all and hoping that the stem cell thing is successful. I know I am just some person from your town in Naples but if there is any way I can assist your family in this journey I would be glad to! Your all in my thoughts and prayers, bring that beautiful baby girl home safe and healthy. I am following you and would like to know of any updates!!
Dude, having 2 small boys (7 and 2 years of age), I can just imagine how painful this is for you and your sister. I have not met you and I don’t know you but I pray for you, your sister and Katerina. May she receive God’s healing and strength.
Of course my prayers are with you and your family, especially your neice. I know the feeling since I lost a nephew at 3 mo old to a rare metabolical disorder. I myself had cancer surgery for the 4th time last wednesday and the power of prayer is undeniable. I volunteer in the Hospital every Friday afternoon in Pastoral Care Dept and see weekly the suffering. I live by the philospohy that \"If God brought you to it, God will get you through it.\"
You are doing the best thing you can for your family - be that special Uncle and you will never regret it.
Mom always told me that God never gives us more than we can handle. God bless.
Your family is so in my prayers. I say good luck with the Stem Cell procedure. My X-Husband had to have the Stem-Cell procedure done in Chicago and he is doing fine now.He had to go through the same thing she is going to go through, bless her little heart. My heart goes out to mommy because I know as a Mother how hard that is for her. Just be there for her and let her talk when ever she wants. God Bless all of you.
Many prayers to you and your family from Texas! The power of prayer is the greatest of all. “The acceptance of fear in all our lives is the foundation for real relationship” Fear is a mysterious part of love.

Hi, Anthony. I don’t know if you remember me, but I wrote to you after I saw Chris and Nathan’s short sale presentation on 3/18, and you quoted me in a follow up video and drawing on 3/19. I was really moved by your story about your niece. Please set up a fund at a local bank in Boston that people can contribute to for her travel and medical expenses and support. Prayers are a given, but if your sister needs financial help with this undertaking, I’m sure there are hundreds (if not thousands) of people whose lives you have influenced for good who would be able to send something to make this burden a little easier.
In faith–
Jeri
